Description

Muddy looking darkened buildings, heavily etched with markings, the unusual sky line etched in pink and blue, draws you into the murky looking buildings, I stare deeper into the painting. Raided and captured by the Vikings, Led by Ivor the Boneless and Halfdan, who attacked York on ‘All Saints Day,’ a Holy day.

After the city was conquered it was renamed Jorvik, and became an important trade centre for the Vikings. In 954 AD King Eadred drove out the last ruler of Jorvik.
